The Pakistan Muslim League-N (PML-N) and Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) have formally invited Jamiat Ulema-i-Islam-Fazl (JUI-F) to join coalition government at both federal and provincial levels.
Recent meetings between PML-N, PPP, the Grand Democratic Alliance (GDA), and JUI-F chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman discussed potential power-sharing arrangements. PML-N reportedly invited JUI-F to join coalition government three days ago, citing Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) as no longer a viable partner.
PPP leaders also approached Maulana Fazlur Rehman, proposing cooperation in Sindh and Balochistan. Discussions included forming provincial governments and collaboration in Gilgit-Baltistan. Sources indicate both parties are keen to include JUI-F in upcoming political alignments.
Meanwhile, the Grand Democratic Alliance has requested JUI-F to support opposition efforts in Sindh. Party insiders claim PML-N may seek to form a government in Balochistan with JUI-F while excluding PPP. Conversely, PPP has extended a similar offer to JUI-F in the province without PML-N.
JUI-F leadership has not made a final decision. The party will decide during its Majlis-e-Shura meeting. Maulana Fazlur Rehman has also convened a two-day central executive committee (CEC) session on April 4 and 5 at Mufti Mahmood Centre in Peshawar. Party spokesperson Aslam Ghauri said the meeting will shape JUI-Fโs political strategy.
Earlier, PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari met Maulana Fazlur Rehman to discuss evolving political developments and possible alliances. Bilawal reportedly extended a formal invitation to JUI-F to join coalition government, particularly in Sindh and Balochistan.
Political analysts say the inclusion of JUI-F in a coalition could reshape provincial and federal dynamics. The decision is expected to influence upcoming government formation and party alignments across Pakistan.
