In a recent crackdown on criminal elements in Punjab, the police have successfully arrested a four-member gang involved in robbing people while posing as a bride after orchestrating fake marriages. The operation was carried out by the Organized Crime Unit of Defence, who apprehended the gang members, including Sajid Bashir, Muhammad Naeem, Muqaddas Bibi, and Allah Rakhi, one of whom is believed to be the ringleader.
The criminals would arrange fraudulent weddings, during which they would hold the victim’s family hostage and flee with their valuables, including cash and jewelry. The suspects have confessed to being involved in multiple such incidents, and investigations are ongoing.

During the arrest, police recovered significant evidence from the suspects, including cash, gold jewelry, and bridal dresses. The DSP of the Organized Crime Unit of Defence credited the successful operation to the unit’s professional expertise and efforts to engage with the public for support.
