An Azerbaijani woman named Diana has registered a case over an alleged gang rape in Lahore.
The case was registered at Defence C Police Station, according to police officials. Authorities have started an investigation into the incident.
The DIG Investigation said the woman underwent a medical examination. The examination indicated that sexual assault had occurred.
Her statement was also recorded before a competent court under Section 164. Police are now investigating the allegations based on the available evidence.
Meanwhile, police teams are conducting raids at different locations to arrest two other suspects. Officials said efforts are continuing to locate the remaining suspects.
The medical report documented several injuries on the woman’s body. Pressure marks were reportedly found on her shoulder.
The report also mentioned injuries on her knee. Doctors collected DNA samples from her body as part of the investigation.
According to the medical findings, marks on specific parts of her body were consistent with sexual assault. The evidence has been included in the ongoing investigation.
The medical team also referred the Azerbaijani woman to a psychiatrist. The report stated that she was allegedly under the influence of drugs during the incident.
Police are also investigating claims about threats made during the alleged assault. Officials said the suspects allegedly claimed to have high-level connections.
According to police, the suspects involved are believed to be between 25 and 30 years old. Their identities and roles are being investigated.
Earlier, police had taken 15 people into custody for questioning. Investigators are examining their possible links to the case.
Police have also recovered a vehicle allegedly connected with the incident. Officials said a white car was allegedly used to trap and transport the woman.
The vehicle reportedly used during the alleged incident is said to belong to suspect Tanveer. Police are examining the vehicle as part of their investigation.
Several law enforcement units are involved in efforts to arrest the remaining suspects. The Crime Control Department, Operations Police and Investigation Police are participating.
