A case has been registered against Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) leader and former MPA Shaheryar Shar, his son Jehangir Shar, and several others for their alleged involvement in the abduction of a girl in Ghotki.
According to police officials, the FIR was lodged by Supreme Court lawyer Ubaidullah Ghotho, the father of the abducted girl. He alleged that his daughter, Erum, had been harassed for several days before being kidnapped from their home. The complaint was filed at the A-Section police station and includes provisions under the Lawyers Protection Act.
Advocate Ghotho accused Shaheryar Shar, Jehangir Shar, Imtiaz Shar, and other individuals of orchestrating the abduction. He urged authorities to take immediate action against the suspects and ensure his daughter’s safe recovery.
In response to the allegations, Shaheryar Shar denied any involvement in the case. He strongly condemned the kidnapping incident and maintained that he had no connection with any criminal group.
Meanwhile, a video circulating on social media shows a girl claiming to be Erum, stating that she married Imtiaz Shar of her own free will. In the video, she requested police protection, asserting that she was not abducted but had chosen her marriage voluntarily.
It is also noteworthy that Advocate Ghotho is the legal representative in the Jam Mehtab Hussain Dahar attack case.
Moreover, Shaheryar Shar, his son Jehangir Shar, and eight others had previously been booked on March 19, 2025, for their alleged involvement in an armed attack on PPP MPA Jam Mehtab Hussain Dahar in Ubauro. Although Dahar escaped unhurt in that incident, his bodyguard was killed, and three others were injured.
