Tragic Honor Killing Pregnant Woman and Husband Shot Dead After Seven Years of Marriage

A pregnant woman and her husband were tragically shot dead in a suspected honour killing in the Lakpas area, near Noshki Cross, in the Mastung district of Balochistan. The incident occurred after seven years of marriage, leaving the community in shock.

The victims have been identified as 28-year-old Muhammad Shoaib from Chitkan, Panjgur, and his wife, Benazir, aged 27, from Hazarganji, Quetta. The couple had married through the court seven years ago.

Recently, Shoaib had reportedly reconciled with his in-laws, leading to an invitation from Benazir’s brother.

The police investigation revealed that Benazir’s brother had invited the couple to Quetta, claiming it was for a dinner gathering.

However, upon arriving at the hotel, the woman’s brother opened fire, shooting both Benazir and Shoaib dead. The suspects quickly fled the scene after the crime.

Benazir, who was pregnant, also leaves behind two young children, aged six and three. Authorities have registered a murder case and are actively searching for the suspects involved in this tragic incident.

This heartbreaking event highlights the ongoing issue of honour killings in the region, sparking further concern about the safety and well-being of women in such situations.

The authorities are committed to bringing justice to the victims and their families, as investigations continue.
