President Zardari Vows to Serve Pakistan Before Answering to God

Rahim Yar Khan: President Zardari has vowed to strengthen and empower the people of Pakistan, saying he remains committed to national development despite political and economic challenges.

“I promise that I will build and improve Pakistan, make you strong and empowered, and then I will pray to Moula (Allah) to call me back to Him. Before that, I am not going anywhere,” President Zardari said while addressing local party leaders and former ticket holders from South Punjab.

The president compared South Punjab to his home province of Sindh, highlighting shared cultural traditions and a common heritage that reflect national unity.

Reflecting on his political journey, President Zardari expressed pride in spending nearly 14 years in prison. He said he endured incarceration with courage, supported by loyal party workers, and suggested that true leadership is tested during difficult times.

On economic issues, he acknowledged inflation and financial hardship. He attributed the situation to mismanagement by the previous four-year government and praised the current prime minister’s efforts to stabilize the economy and ensure effective governance.

Regarding national security, the president mentioned ongoing tensions along Pakistan’s international borders. He criticised Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi, suggesting that recent setbacks sent a clear message across the border.

President Zardari also lauded Pakistan’s armed forces for their sacrifices in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Balochistan, emphasizing their courage and dedication in defending the country.
