President Asif Ali Zardari and the Emir of Qatar, Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, have agreed to strengthen and expand bilateral cooperation across multiple sectors, including trade, investment, energy, and defense.
During a high-level meeting held in Doha, both leaders reaffirmed their commitment to deepening Pakistan-Qatar relations and exploring new opportunities for collaboration. President Zardari emphasized Pakistan’s readiness to facilitate Qatari investment in energy, infrastructure, and agriculture, highlighting the country’s strategic location and growing economic potential.
The Qatari Emir expressed keen interest in enhancing economic partnerships and supporting joint ventures that contribute to regional stability and prosperity. He also appreciated Pakistan’s consistent efforts to maintain peace and promote dialogue within the Muslim world.
Both sides also discussed cooperation in the aviation, labor, and education sectors, with a focus on improving the welfare of the large Pakistani community living and working in Qatar.
President Zardari extended an invitation to the Qatari Emir to visit Pakistan, underscoring that high-level exchanges would further solidify mutual trust and friendship between the two nations.
Officials from both countries agreed to establish joint working groups to monitor the progress of agreed projects and enhance institutional linkages for long-term strategic cooperation.
The meeting reaffirmed Pakistan and Qatar’s shared vision of mutual growth, regional stability, and economic integration, marking another milestone in their enduring diplomatic partnership.
