Youm-e-Takbeer is observed each year on May 28 to commemorate Pakistan’s successful nuclear tests in 1998, which were carried out in the Chaghi hills of Balochistan. The tests positioned Pakistan as the seventh nuclear-armed nation globally and the first Muslim-majority country to possess such capability.
The day is widely seen as a symbol of national resilience and strategic deterrence, with events and ceremonies held across the country to honour the milestone.
