PTA Cracks Down on Indian Bots Behind Anti-Pakistan Social Media Campaign

The Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) has initiated a robust operation to dismantle networks of Indian bots and fake accounts engaged in spreading anti-Pakistan narratives online, especially in light of rising tensions between Pakistan and India.

Sources confirm that regulatory bodies have identified numerous suspicious accounts responsible for circulating propaganda. In response, the PTA has implemented 24/7 surveillance of social media platforms to track and curb these hostile digital operations.

A PTA representative stated that 46 suspicious URLs have already been flagged and sent to social media companies for removal. The authority stressed that tackling fake Indian-backed accounts is an ongoing mission that demands continuous monitoring.

Officials noted that all relevant Pakistani institutions have been activated to counter this disinformation campaign, assuring that any identified accounts involved in anti-state activities are promptly reported for necessary action.

When questioned about the profiles linked to these flagged URLs, officials clarified that many were evidently part of an orchestrated effort to malign Pakistan, particularly after recent diplomatic confrontations with India.

The PTA also called on citizens to stay alert and report any suspicious or misleading content they come across on social media to help strengthen national cyber defenses.
