New PTA Taxes Increased for iPhone 14 Series in Pakistan

ISLAMABAD โ€“ The Federal Board of Revenue has revised customs values for several smartphone models, leading to higher PTA Taxes in Pakistan. The latest update comes only a few months after the previous revision in January 2026.

The new customs values have increased import charges on smartphones. These charges are commonly known as PTA Taxes. The revised rates will affect buyers of older flagship devices, making them more expensive in the local market.

The latest update mainly impacts the Apple iPhone 14 lineup. This includes the Apple iPhone 14 Pro and Apple iPhone 14 Pro Max. However, no changes have been reported for the Apple iPhone 14 Plus so far.

According to the updated customs values, the PTA Taxes on the standard iPhone 14 have increased. The tax on CNIC registration has gone up from Rs27,045 to Rs30,321. On passport registration, the tax increased from Rs24,584 to Rs27,860.

For the iPhone 14 Pro, the tax on CNIC has risen from Rs31,077 to Rs34,101. The passport tax also moved up from Rs28,616 to Rs31,640.

The biggest increase was seen on the iPhone 14 Pro Max. The CNIC-based tax climbed from Rs45,564 to Rs48,235. The passport-based tax increased from Rs39,944 to Rs42,615.

The increase in PTA Taxes follows the rise in customs values set by the FBR. These values are used to calculate import duties on smartphones.

The FBR has also updated customs values for Samsung devices. The Samsung Galaxy S23 customs value increased from $210 to $275. The Samsung Galaxy S23+ rose from $290 to $350. The Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra increased from $360 to $413.
