The National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA) has issued a strict final warning to citizens whose Computerized National Identity Cards (CNICs) have expired.
NADRA announced that all mobile SIMs registered under expired CNICs will be blocked after July 31, 2025, unless the identity cards are renewed before the deadline.

In an official statement, NADRA emphasized that this is the last and non-negotiable deadline. “Individuals whose CNICs expired as far back as 2018 must renew their ID cards without delay,” the authority warned. Failure to comply will lead to the permanent suspension of mobile services, including calls, SMS, internet access, and digital verification for banking and other essential services.
This move could affect a significant number of citizens who have not updated their CNICs in recent years, with serious consequences—especially given the central role mobile connectivity now plays in daily life, business operations, and financial transactions.
To facilitate the renewal process, NADRA urged the public to visit their nearest registration centers or use the Pak-ID mobile app for convenient online CNIC updates.
With the deadline fast approaching, those impacted are being strongly advised to act immediately to avoid disconnection starting in August.
