PTI Alleges Imran Khan Kept in Solitary Confinement

Imran Khan

Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) has accused the government of placing former Prime Minister Imran Khan in solitary confinement at Adiala Jail, claiming he is being held in a death cell without access to visitors. PTI’s Central Information Secretary Sheikh Waqas stated that Khan has been denied meetings with family and legal counsel, despite court orders allowing six visitors.

Waqas alleged that authorities have ignored multiple court rulings, preventing Khan from consulting with his lawyers on the numerous cases against him. He also claimed that even Khan’s wife has been denied visits twice, and a contempt of court petition has been filed over the issue.

PTI also raised concerns about Khan’s well-being, stating that he has been denied medical consultations with his personal doctor. Additionally, jail authorities have allegedly withheld books and newspapers from him, further restricting his access to information.

Criticizing the government’s Ramadan relief package, Waqas compared it to PTI’s previous Ehsaas programme, which provided Rs. 15,000 per family. He urged the government to prioritize public welfare over political interests.
