According to the details, the PTI chairman stated that he will be appearing before the Lahore High Court (LHC), which is why he cannot attend the NAB appearance in Islamabad. In a written response to NAB, he mentioned that the Islamabad court has summoned him on July 4 and requested to change the date of his NAB appearance to July 4.

Previously, the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) had summoned the PTI chairman on June 22 for an inquiry into the Toshakhana case. The anti-graft watchdog issued another summons after the PTI chief failed to appear on June 21.

The NAB has summoned him as part of an ongoing inquiry into allegations of misuse of authority, criminal breach of trust, and illegal gain through the sale of gifted state assets.

The former prime minister was asked to appear before the Combined Investigation Team (CIT) at 11:00 on June 21 for the recording of his statement.

The reference filed by lawmakers from the ruling coalition last year alleges that the former prime minister failed to disclose the details of gifts he retained from the Toshakhana during his time in office.

The Toshakhana issue has become a significant point of contention in national politics, with the Election Commission of Pakistan having recently disqualified the PTI chief for making false statements and incorrect declarations.
