akistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Secretary General Salman Akram Raja has claimed that former prime minister Imran Khan has lost vision in one eye due to alleged mistreatment during custody.
The PTI leader made the remarks while speaking to reporters outside the Supreme Court in Islamabad on Wednesday.
According to Salman Akram Raja, Imran Khan is facing serious health risks while being held in prison. He also alleged that the PTI founder was being denied several constitutional and legal rights.
Raja stated that all “doors of justice” appeared closed and claimed that the former prime minister had now spent nearly 1,000 days in jail.
The statement comes shortly after Imran Khan received another eye treatment at the Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences (PIMS).
Reports showed that Khan was administered a fourth intravitreal eye injection on April 28 as part of ongoing medical treatment.
Court documents submitted to the Supreme Court earlier confirmed that the PTI founder had been diagnosed with central retinal vein occlusion (CRVO).
CRVO is considered a serious eye condition in which the main vein carrying blood away from the retina becomes blocked.
Medical experts say the condition is often linked to health problems such as diabetes, high blood pressure, cholesterol issues, and heart disease.
During the media interaction, Salman Akram Raja also claimed that meetings between Imran Khan and his family members were being restricted.
He alleged that court orders related to visitation rights were not being properly implemented by authorities.
According to Raja, signatures on legal documents, including vakalatnamas, were also facing delays and restrictions.
The PTI leader claimed that only selected individuals were being allowed to meet the jailed party founder.
He further alleged that Khan’s sisters were not being permitted meetings despite his reported health condition.
Raja also raised concerns regarding Bushra Bibi, the wife of Imran Khan.
He alleged that false legal cases, including Toshakhana-related references, were being filed against her based on statements from government witnesses.
The PTI secretary general said the party had already filed multiple petitions before the Supreme Court but hearings were not taking place.
He added that PTI had exhausted legal avenues and would now continue presenting its case before the public.
During the press talk, Raja also commented on the country’s political and economic conditions.
He claimed the economy had suffered severe damage and criticized restrictions imposed on political activities.
The PTI leader also alleged that the judiciary had weakened and referred to the transfer of judges between provinces.
So far, government authorities and prison officials have not publicly responded to the latest allegations regarding Imran Khan’s health condition or prison treatment.
The claims made during the media talk have not been independently verified.
