Rana Sanaullah Says PTI Preparing For Long March After Eid

Rana Sanaullah Says PTI Preparing For Long March After Eid

Prime Ministerโ€™s Adviser Rana Sanaullah has stated that Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) is planning long march after Eid, following what he described as the failure of the February 8 strike.

Speaking on ARY Newsโ€™ program Off The Record, Rana Sanaullah said the PTI strike lacked preparation and failed to disrupt normal activities nationwide. He noted that the protest mostly remained in media statements and did not translate into widespread action.

Rana Sanaullah added that this limited response could have political consequences for PTI. He claimed that while the party is planning long march after Eid, the recent strike shows challenges in mobilizing supporters effectively.

Addressing the incarceration of PTIโ€™s founding chairman, the adviser stated that the government has not proposed relocating him outside prison facilities. Discussions have been held regarding possible court permission to move him to a hospital or another location on medical grounds. However, any such move will depend on judicial orders.

The adviser also commented on PTIโ€™s internal communication, noting that online abuse and misinformation have affected the party itself. He mentioned a recent meeting between lawyer Salman Safdar and the PTI founder, saying authorities are awaiting the report and will verify any claims before taking action.

Rana Sanaullah further asserted that the PTI founder is in good health, undergoing daily medical check-ups, and receiving meals reviewed by doctors. He has access to television and newspapers and is currently housed in a six-room cell. The adviser said Safdar spent three hours with the inmate and likely checked the facilities.

He concluded by highlighting ongoing differences between the government and PTI. Rana Sanaullah reiterated that claims about the February 8 strikeโ€™s impact were overstated and emphasized that the opposition partyโ€™s approach continues to create tensions.

Analysts note that PTI planning long march indicates the partyโ€™s continued strategy to mobilize supporters, though questions remain about its nationwide effectiveness and political impact in the coming weeks.
