Punjab and Karachi See Unusual Shifts in Winter Weather Patterns

Punjab is witnessing a notable change in its weather, with the winter season shortening and temperatures rising earlier than expected. According to the Meteorological Department, dry weather continues across the province, reducing the intensity of cold and bringing an early glimpse of spring. In Lahore, the minimum temperature has been recorded at 7°C, with the maximum expected to rise to 24°C.

The ongoing dry spell is forecast to persist for the next two to three days, with no rainfall expected during this period. Meteorologists have noted that this year’s winter has been unusually brief, suggesting potential changes in long-term seasonal patterns.

In Karachi, temperatures have also been affected, as cold winds from Balochistan bring a noticeable drop in temperature. On Thursday morning, the minimum temperature in the city was recorded at 10.9°C, reflecting a 3.6°C decrease from the previous day.

The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) predicts that the cold spell will continue over the next few days, with Karachi’s temperature possibly falling to single digits. Frigid winds are sweeping the city due to a western weather system, intensifying the winter chill.
