Education authorities in Punjab have officially released the schedule for academic Summer Camp programs. The decision aims to continue learning activities during the summer break.
Officials said the Summer Camp initiative is designed to help students complete their syllabus on time. At the same time, it ensures safety during the ongoing heatwave.
According to the announced plan, the Summer Camp sessions will start at 7:30 AM and end at 9:30 AM daily. Authorities have strictly limited timings due to extreme weather conditions.
The government clarified that the early morning schedule is necessary to protect students from intense summer heat. Schools have been advised to avoid any activity beyond the set hours.
Punjab Education Minister Rana Sikandar Hayat confirmed that Summer Camp activities will begin from the first week of summer holidays. He said the program will continue for one month only.
He further stated that the structured Summer Camp system is part of efforts to ensure academic continuity. The goal is to reduce learning gaps caused by extended school closures.
Private schools had earlier requested permission to conduct Summer Camp sessions. They argued that students are facing academic loss due to disrupted teaching schedules.
Following these requests, the government approved a controlled plan for academic camps during vacations. However, strict safety guidelines will be followed in all institutions.
Officials emphasized that the Summer Camp will operate under limited duration and monitored conditions. The focus will remain on core subjects and syllabus completion.
Education experts believe the initiative may help students stay connected with studies during the long break. However, they also stress the importance of student health during extreme weather.
Earlier, the government had announced a three-month summer vacation schedule due to severe heatwave conditions. Schools are expected to reopen in late August.
