The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has predicted light rain across various districts of Punjab, including Lahore, as a rain-bearing weather system is expected to reach the region on Friday. This weather change is anticipated to bring a refreshing cool down, with a noticeable drop in temperatures throughout the province.
Presently, dry weather dominates Punjab, including Lahore, where temperatures are climbing during the day and cooling off at night. The Met Office has also pointed out a shorter winter season this year due to ongoing climate changes. Lahore’s temperatures on Thursday registered a low of 7ยฐC, with the day’s high forecasted to touch 24ยฐC.

In the broader region, cold and dry conditions are expected to prevail in most plains of the country over the next 12 hours. However, upper areas like Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Gilgit-Baltistan, and Kashmir could experience cloudy weather with light rain and snowfall.
Temperatures in major cities this morning were recorded as follows: Islamabad at 6ยฐC, Karachi at 17ยฐC, Peshawar at 9ยฐC, Quetta and Murree at 1ยฐC, Gilgit at -1ยฐC, and Muzaffarabad at 5ยฐC.
Meanwhile, in Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir, the forecast suggests cloudy weather with chances of rain and snow in Leh, Pulwama, Anantnag, Shopian, and Baramula. Srinagar may see light rain and snow, while Jammu is expected to remain partly cloudy and cold.
