Lahore: The Punjab government has announced an increase in the quota for electric vehicle (EV) taxis, making it easier for ordinary citizens to enter the EV taxi business.
Officials said the move aims to promote green transportation, reduce pollution, and encourage affordable entrepreneurship. The quota expansion will allow more men and women to obtain licenses and incentives to operate EV taxis across the province.
Authorities highlighted that the initiative is part of Punjabโs broader strategy to modernize public transport, support sustainable energy adoption, and provide economic opportunities for citizens. Training programs and financial assistance will also be offered to new EV taxi operators.
