The Punjab government’s swift action has saved hundreds of lives in Ferozewala, Tehsil Sheikhupura, by constructing protective embankments to block incoming floodwaters.
According to local reports, these measures shielded dozens of villages, livestock, farmlands, and livelihoods from possible destruction. The timely response prevented water from spreading into populated areas.
Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif had directed immediate steps to safeguard residents from heavy flood torrents coming from India. Acting on her instructions, authorities in Ferozewala built embankments that successfully held back the rising waters.
As a result, key localities including Awan Par, Sant Pura, and nearby settlements remained protected. Officials confirmed that these preventive efforts saved both human lives and agricultural resources.
Residents of Ferozewala expressed gratitude to the provincial government for prioritizing their safety. Many acknowledged that without these urgent measures, their homes, crops, and animals could have been destroyed.
