Lahore Traffic Police has established five driving training schools for students in Lahore. The initiative is linked to the CM Punjab E-Bike Scheme.
The new facilities will provide students with driving training and licensing services. The initiative aims to encourage safer and more responsible riding among young people.
Students benefiting from the electric bike program can use these facilities to improve their driving skills.
Five Driving Schools Established in Lahore
According to the announcement, training facilities have been established at five locations across Lahore.
These include Abshar Driving School and Liberty Khidmat Markaz. Facilities are also available at Greater Iqbal Park.
Two additional training centers have been established at Traffic Police Lines Manawan and LOS Ferozepur Road.
The centers will help students receive proper driving training. They will also provide access to facilities related to obtaining driving licences.
The initiative supports the Punjab government’s wider efforts to promote electric mobility among students.
CM Punjab E-Bike Scheme Targets 100,000 Students
Under the CM Punjab E-Bike Scheme, the provincial government plans to provide 100,000 electric bikes to students.
The listed total cost of each electric bike is Rs199,000. However, eligible students will have to pay Rs109,000. Students can pay their share through a 36-month installment plan.
The monthly installment has been set at Rs3,028. This payment structure aims to make electric bikes more affordable for students.
The Punjab government will cover several additional expenses under the program.
These include insurance, registration costs and mark-up charges.
Thousands of Educational Institutions Eligible
More than 33,000 public and private educational institutions are eligible to participate in the program. Eligible students can submit their applications through the official Punjab government bike portal.
The E-Bike Scheme combines affordable transportation with efforts to promote electric mobility across Punjab.
The establishment of driving schools adds a road safety component to the initiative. Students will have opportunities to learn essential driving skills before regularly using their electric bikes.
The training facilities could also make the licensing process more accessible for participating students. Through the initiative, authorities aim to combine affordable transportation with responsible riding practices.
