25-Year-Old Punjab Police Constable ‘Commits’ Suicide in Ferozewala

SHEIKHUPURA – A tragic incident occurred in Ferozewala, Sheikhupura district, where a Punjab police constable was found dead in what appears to be a case of suicide.

According to initial reports, the deceased, identified as 25-year-old Shiraz Afzal Ansari, allegedly shot himself in the forehead with a pistol at his residence. The young Punjab police constable was serving with the Punjab Constabulary Battalion No. 7 and had recently been assigned duty at the MPA Hostels in Lahore.

Police sources revealed that Ansari had recently gotten engaged, and his wedding was planned for later this year. The sudden incident has shocked his family, friends, and colleagues.

After the discovery of his body, local authorities transported it to Tehsil Headquarters Hospital, where a post-mortem examination was conducted to determine the exact cause of death.

The Ferozewala Police have launched a detailed investigation into the circumstances surrounding the death. Officials have not yet confirmed the motive behind the apparent suicide. However, early findings suggest that the Punjab police constable may have been struggling with personal challenges before taking this extreme step.

Authorities have assured that all aspects of the case will be thoroughly investigated. Statements from the constable’s family, friends, and coworkers are being recorded to gather more insight into the events leading up to the tragedy.

This heartbreaking incident has once again raised concerns about the mental health and well-being of police officers across the province. Law enforcement agencies often face high stress and demanding working conditions, which can take a toll on emotional stability.
