LAHORE – Punjab has opened online registration for its October 2026 premium vehicle number auction, allowing motorists to register and place bids without visiting an Excise Department office. The auction covers cars, motorcycles and commercial vehicles, with applicants able to complete the process from home using a mobile phone or computer.

The Punjab Excise Department and Punjab Information Technology Board (PITB) are jointly conducting the auction through the province’s e-Auction system. Registration for the October auction will remain open until October 31, 2026, giving applicants time to browse the available numbers and decide which Registration Number they want to bid for.

After creating an account on the official e-Auction platform or mobile application, applicants can view the numbers available for bidding. Each Registration Number category has a different minimum reserve price, while more sought-after numbers generally carry higher starting prices. Applicants can check the applicable reserve price before deciding whether to participate.

The online system brings registration, number selection and bidding together on one digital platform. Motorists can choose their preferred Registration Number and take part in the auction remotely instead of making repeated visits to government offices. The system is also intended to make the process easier and provide a more transparent way of allocating premium registration marks.

The facility is available to overseas Pakistanis as well, allowing them to participate without being physically present in Punjab. This gives applicants living outside the province or abroad an option to complete the process online and bid for a preferred number.

The October auction is particularly relevant for people registering new vehicles, including cars, motorcycles and commercial vehicles. Applicants can review the available registration marks and select one according to their preference and budget.

The launch of the auction is part of Punjab’s wider move toward digital government services. By shifting the premium number bidding process online, the e-Auction system allows motorists to handle the main steps electronically and from any location.
