Rana Sikandar Hayat announced that all educational institutions across Punjab will reopen from April 1, with classes conducted five days a week. The government has rejected proposals for hybrid learning or a reduced-day schedule, confirming that academic activities will follow a full five-day routine.
The minister highlighted that authorities are monitoring 246 matriculation examination centers using CCTV cameras to ensure transparency. He also stated that the academic calendar is being revised to provide students appearing in next yearโs exams with additional preparation time.
Rana Sikandar Hayat added that approximately 70 percent of free textbooks have been distributed across districts, with the remaining supply expected to be completed soon. To oversee preparations, he visited several examination centers alongside Muzammil Mahmood.
Muzammil Mahmood noted that QR codes and biometric systems are being used to verify candidates at examination centers. He advised students to focus on their understanding and knowledge rather than presentation, emphasizing that marks are awarded based on comprehension and performance.
The governmentโs move aims to ensure continuity in education while maintaining transparency and fairness in examinations, as Punjab prepares for the upcoming academic session.
