Lahore β Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz has approved a full-scale crackdown on extremist groups, illegal residents, and mafia networks, declaring βzero toleranceβ for anyone challenging state authority.
During a key security meeting in Lahore, Maryam Nawaz ordered law enforcement agencies to act decisively and without hesitation. She emphasized that operations will target extremist and militant elements only, not any sect or religious group.
A major highlight of the security measures is the creation of a Special Emergency Helpline under Punjab Police Helpline 15. Citizens are urged to report suspicious activities immediately, helping authorities track extremists and illegal foreign nationals. The helpline will serve as a direct channel between the public and law enforcement.
The chief minister also approved the strict enforcement of the Loudspeaker Act, establishment of district whistle-blower cells, and mobile police stations to bring law enforcement closer to the people. These initiatives aim to ensure swift justice and stronger governance across Punjab.
Maryam Nawaz instructed daily progress reports from district officials, focusing on action against illegal residents, tax evaders, and deportation cases. Property owners renting to undocumented individuals will face prosecution under the Tenancy and Passport Acts.
The government has banned all posters, banners, and advertisements promoting extremist organisations. Additionally, online agitators spreading hate speech or extremist propaganda will face action under the PECA Act.
The Special Emergency Helpline is a key part of the governmentβs strategy to maintain public safety and prevent unlawful activities. Citizens are encouraged to use the helpline responsibly to report threats, suspicious individuals, or activities linked to extremist groups.
