The caretaker government of Punjab, led by CM Mohsin Naqvi, has taken significant steps to enforce parking regulations in the region. In a recent meeting of the Lahore Development Authority (LDA), chaired by the caretaker CM, it was decided that legal action would be initiated against building and plaza owners found to be violating parking rules.
To ensure compliance, a fine of Rs. 10,000 per kanal will be imposed on building owners who fail to open parking facilities within the specified period. Additionally, amendments to the LDA Building and Zoning Rules and Regulations were approved during the meeting.

In a bid to alleviate traffic issues, the meeting decided to construct U-turns and slip roads at seven intersections. However, before final approval is granted, temporary barriers will be installed on the roads to assess traffic flow.
The caretaker government also approved the improvement of road infrastructure at 26 locations, with a focus on constructing protective U-turns between Canal Road, Harbanspura, and Jallo. This initiative aims to enhance traffic management and safety in the identified areas.
Furthermore, the meeting granted approval for leasing Lahore Global Village to the Punjab Central Business District Authority. Additionally, consultant services will be obtained to facilitate the commercialization of nine roads in Lahore. These measures collectively reflect the caretaker government’s commitment to addressing urban planning challenges and enhancing the overall quality of infrastructure in Punjab.
