Punjab to Launch First-Ever Minority Card for Financial Support

Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif has announced the introduction of Pakistan’s first-ever Minority Card, set to launch in early 2025. This initiative will provide financial assistance every three months to underprivileged members of the minority community, ensuring their support and sustainability.

Speaking at a Christmas ceremony in Lahore’s House of Prayer, Maryam Nawaz emphasized her commitment to the welfare of the minority community, stating that the state is like a mother who does not discriminate between her children. She further affirmed that minorities and majorities in Punjab are equally important and that all communities contribute to the province’s development.

Maryam Nawaz also shared that the budget for the Christian community has been increased by 200%, with the aim to create a more inclusive society. She stressed that the term “minority” should not be used, as all communities are integral to Pakistan’s identity. She reaffirmed her dedication to making Punjab a hub of religious harmony and ensuring the protection and prosperity of all its people.
