In a significant incident, a Nigerian national was arrested at Lahore International Airport on drug smuggling charges.
Authorities discovered that the individual was concealing 38 cocaine-filled capsules in his stomach. The suspect, who had traveled from Nigeria via Dubai, was detained by the Anti-Narcotics Force (ANF). According to an ANF spokesperson, the capsules contained a total of 608 grams of cocaine.

This isn’t the first time Nigerians have been caught smuggling drugs. In 2023 alone, authorities arrested 10 Nigerians, seizing a total of 4.811 kilograms of narcotics.
So far this year, seven operations have led to the arrest of eight Nigerian nationals and the recovery of 11.420 kilograms of drugs.
The suspect now faces charges under the Anti-Narcotics Act, with investigations ongoing. The identity of the individual has not yet been disclosed.
