Pregnant Women in Punjab to Receive Rs23,000 Assistance Under New Government Initiative

The Punjab government has introduced the Aghosh Program, providing financial assistance of Rs23,000 to pregnant and expecting mothers.

As per government officials, financial aid will be provided to expecting mothers who attend regular medical check-ups throughout their pregnancy until childbirth.

This program is a key part of the Punjab government’s efforts to improve maternal and child health services across the province. By ensuring that women receive adequate prenatal and postnatal care, the initiative is expected to ease financial burdens on families and improve healthcare accessibility, particularly for underserved communities.

  • Consult a health worker: A healthcare provider will guide and assist in the registration process.
  • Submit required documents: CNIC, proof of residence, and maternity records.
  • Electronic registration: Health workers will complete the process using the EMR system.
  • Confirmation: Applicants will receive a notification via SMS or in person.

  • Registration: Rs2,000 upon initial enrollment.
  • Antenatal check-ups: Rs6,000 for attending four scheduled medical visits during pregnancy.
