The inclement weather persisted in the northern regions of the country, causing significant devastation for the second consecutive day on Monday. Tragically, over four lives were lost and nine others sustained injuries as a result of the severe weather conditions.
The relentless rain and snowfall led to the suspension of electricity supply in various areas of the province, with casualties reported due to roof collapses in Swat, Lower Dir, Upper Dir, Lower Kurram, and Mardan.
The adverse weather conditions wreaked havoc across Kashmir, Gilgit-Baltistan, and upper areas of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, disrupting daily life and causing tragic incidents. Tourists found themselves stranded due to heavy snowfall in popular destinations like Galyat, Nathia Gali, and Thandiani.
Electricity supply was abruptly halted in many areas, while the Meteorological Department issued warnings of more snowfall in the next 24 hours.

In Abbottabad and surrounding areas, continuous rain for three consecutive days paralyzed business activities. Upper regions, including Galyat and Thandiani, experienced significant snowfall, resulting in the closure of the main Murree Road due to heavy snow and landslides.
Efforts are underway to clear roads, with the Galiyat Development Authority (GDA) deploying staff and heavy machinery to ensure road safety. The collaboration of GDA and C&W aims to clear roads leading to Nathiagali and Murree.
The storm caused widespread damage, with trees, billboards, and electric wires collapsing in various locations. In Murree, powerful winds blew off the roofs of several houses, further exacerbating the situation.
The disruption extended to the electrical infrastructure, with numerous feeders tripping and causing electricity outages lasting over fourteen hours in many regions.
In Peshawar, the accumulation of water on major highways, including University Road, led to severe traffic congestion resembling flood conditions. Low-lying areas faced water ingress, prompting local residents to assist in pumping water out of affected houses.
Looking ahead, the Meteorological Department forecasts continued rain in the plains of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and snowfall in the upper districts over the next 24 hours, underscoring the ongoing challenges posed by the adverse weather conditions.
