Heavy Rain continued to batter several parts of Pakistan, causing widespread damage and loss of life. According to Dunya News, at least 19 people were killed and 25 others were injured in rain-related incidents during the last 24 hours.
The National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) has released its latest report on the impact of the ongoing monsoon season. The report shows that the nationwide death toll since June 26 has risen to 97, while 297 people have been injured.
According to the NDMA, the victims include 43 children, 33 men, and 21 women. The authority said the highest number of deaths has been reported in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, where 52 people have lost their lives. Punjab recorded 29 deaths, followed by seven in Azad Kashmir, six in Balochistan, two in Sindh, and one in Gilgit-Baltistan.
The report also highlights the growing number of injuries caused by the severe Rain. Punjab reported 203 injured people, while Khyber Pakhtunkhwa recorded 75 injuries. Balochistan reported 15 injuries, and Azad Kashmir and Sindh each recorded two injured persons.
The ongoing monsoon has also caused significant damage to homes and infrastructure. So far, 447 houses have been damaged across the country. Floodwaters have killed 269 livestock, while six bridges and around nine kilometers of roads have also been damaged.
Most of the deaths during the past 24 hours were linked to roof collapses and electrocution caused by the continuous rainfall. In Lahore’s Garhi Shahu area, a man, his wife, and their daughter died after the roof of their home collapsed. Another daughter was injured in the incident.
In Gujrat, three siblings lost their lives when the roof of their house collapsed. The victims were identified as 15-year-old Ali, 14-year-old Iman, and 13-year-old Falak Sher.
Kasur also witnessed multiple tragedies. Two people, including a seven-year-old child, died after a roof collapse. In Raja Jang, two children, 10-year-old Saad and 11-year-old Ehsan, drowned in accumulated Rain water.
In Hujra Shah Muqim, a woman died and four others were injured when the roof of a house collapsed. In Hangu’s Darsamand area, two children lost their lives after another roof collapse, while three people, including two women, were injured.
Electrocution also claimed several lives. One person died in Bahawalnagar, while a seven-year-old child was electrocuted by an electric pole in Okara. In Daska, the father of five children also died after coming into contact with an electric pole.
In Sheikhupura, a live electric wire fell onto a passenger bus. The bus conductor was killed, while six passengers suffered injuries.
In Sindh, a child died after being struck by lightning in Umerkot. Another person drowned in Tharparkar due to flood-related conditions.

Authorities have urged citizens to remain cautious during the ongoing monsoon spell. People have been advised to avoid flooded areas, stay away from damaged electric infrastructure, and follow official weather advisories. Rescue teams and local administrations remain on alert as more rainfall is expected in several parts of the country.
