Rain Expected in Karachi Today? PMD Issues Fresh Weather Update

The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has shared the latest weather outlook, saying Karachi will experience partly cloudy and humid conditions throughout the day. While there is no significant rainfall forecast for the city, rain today is expected in several other parts of Pakistan, including Kashmir, upper Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, northeastern Punjab, Gilgit-Baltistan, northeastern Balochistan, and southeastern Sindh.

According to the Met Office, Karachi’s maximum temperature is likely to remain between 33ยฐC and 35ยฐC. Humidity has been recorded at 78 percent, making the weather feel warmer than the actual temperature.

Southwesterly winds are blowing at a speed of 18 kilometers per hour. These winds are contributing to the city’s humid conditions. Residents are advised to stay hydrated and avoid unnecessary outdoor activities during the hottest hours of the day.

The latest forecast indicates that rain today is likely in several northern and northeastern regions of the country. Rain accompanied by strong winds and thunderstorms may affect Kashmir, upper Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, northeastern Punjab, Gilgit-Baltistan, northeastern Balochistan, and southeastern Sindh over the next 12 hours.

The PMD said these weather conditions could provide temporary relief from the recent heat in affected areas. However, local authorities have advised people to remain cautious during thunderstorms due to the possibility of strong winds and reduced visibility.

In contrast, hot and humid weather is expected to continue across most other parts of Pakistan. The weather pattern is likely to keep daytime temperatures high in many cities.

The Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA) has also issued an advisory regarding possible rain and dust storms in parts of Sindh. Citizens have been urged to monitor official weather updates and take necessary precautions if severe weather develops.

The morning temperatures recorded across major cities showed varying weather conditions. Islamabad recorded 25ยฐC, while Lahore and Peshawar both reported 27ยฐC. Karachi’s morning temperature stood at 30ยฐC.

Quetta recorded 24ยฐC during the morning hours. Gilgit remained much cooler at 19ยฐC. Murree experienced a pleasant 15ยฐC, while Muzaffarabad recorded 23ยฐC.

Weather officials said mountainous regions are expected to remain relatively cooler than the plains. Cloud cover and rainfall may further lower temperatures in areas receiving showers.

The forecast also covers weather conditions in Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir. According to the latest update, partly cloudy skies with chances of rain today, gusty winds, and thunderstorms are expected in several cities.

These areas include Srinagar, Leh, Pulwama, Anantnag, Baramula, Jammu, and Shopian. Residents have been advised to stay alert as weather conditions may change quickly.

Morning temperatures in the region reflected cooler weather. Srinagar, Anantnag, and Baramula each recorded 18ยฐC. Jammu reported 27ยฐC, while Leh remained the coldest at 7ยฐC. Pulwama and Shopian both recorded 17ยฐC.

Meteorologists said the current weather system may continue to influence northern parts of the country during the coming hours. Areas expecting rain today could experience brief but moderate showers along with isolated thunderstorms.

People planning to travel are advised to check the latest forecasts before leaving. Authorities also recommend taking extra care during periods of heavy rain or strong winds.

The Pakistan Meteorological Department continues to monitor the developing weather system and will issue further updates if conditions change. Citizens are encouraged to follow official advisories for the latest weather information.
