In the Middle East, including Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates, fasting will average 12 to 13 hours. In South Asia, including Pakistan, India, and Bangladesh, fasting hours are expected to range from 12.5 to 14 hours.
Southeast Asian countries such as Indonesia and Malaysia will see fasting durations of around 12 to 13 hours. In the southern hemisphere, the pattern is slightly different. Countries like Australia, South Africa, Chile, and Argentina may observe fasts lasting 13 to 15 hours at the start of the month.
