Police in Rawalpindi have registered a case against the principal of a private academy accused of sexually assaulting a matriculation student and later forcing her into an abortion. The case has been filed at Pirwadhai Police Station.
According to the First Information Report (FIR), the accused has been identified as Zia ur Rehman, the principal of Asad Academy located in Khayaban-e-Sir Syed. The victim had enrolled at the academy in 2023 to prepare for her matric exams.
The student alleged that in May 2025, she was called to the academy under the pretext of extra exam preparation. When she arrived, other students had already left, leaving only the principal in the building.
She claimed he locked the doors and subjected her to sexual assault, warning her of consequences if she told anyone.
The FIR further revealed that the accused promised marriage, claiming he had no children and wanted to marry her. When the student suggested he speak with her parents, he allegedly began manipulating her emotionally. He also offered better grades and academic support to silence her.
The victim stated that after learning about her pregnancy, the accused took her to a private clinic in Saddar for a medical check-up. Later, he gave her medication that caused a miscarriage. She claimed she was not aware the medicine was for abortion.
Despite repeated promises of marriage, the abuse reportedly continued. In July, the principal allegedly assaulted her again in his office, leading to a second pregnancy. Due to extreme stress, she suffered another miscarriage.
In her statement, the student said, βZia ur Rehman misused the noble profession of teaching, made false promises of marriage, and ruined my future.β
Police have registered a case under charges of rape and forced abortion. Raids are underway to arrest the accused, who is currently absconding. The incident has sparked outrage in Rawalpindi, raising concerns about student safety in private institutions.
