Rawalpindi Civil Defense Urges Precaution Against Heatwaves

Following a forecast of high temperatures and frequent heatwaves this summer, the Rawalpindi Civil Defence has made precautionary measures to avoid any loss of life and property.

Owners of a variety of companies and plazas have received notifications urging them to repair outdated fire extinguishing equipment, faulty electrical wires, and malfunctioning switches.

Owners of furniture, cardboard, paper, and chemical manufacturers, as well as petroleum agencies and junkyards containing combustible materials, have been encouraged to take precautionary measures to ensure the safety of their premises.

Talib Hussain, District Civil Defence Officer, issued a warning that anyone who violates safety rules will face legal action, and establishments lacking adequate safety equipment will be closed down immediately.

Furthermore, notices were issued demanding the installation of fire extinguishers as well as the execution of government SOPs within 15 days. Beginning on May 22, the government will conduct factory inspections, and those who fail to demonstrate compliance with safety rules will face serious legal consequences.

The department has developed a zero-tolerance policy for safety violations in order to ensure everyone’s safety and well-being.
