Punjab government has approved a new 100-bed Cancer treatment tower at Holy Family Hospital in Rawalpindi.

The facility will provide specialised treatment services for patients from across the Rawalpindi Division.

The project received approval from Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif. Relevant departments have now started preparing the project’s PC-I.

The new facility is expected to expand access to specialised oncology services in the region.

Cancer Treatment Tower Planned at Holy Family Hospital

The project was discussed during a video-link meeting chaired by the Punjab health secretary.

The meeting was held following directives from the chief minister, according to the available details.

Officials from the Health Department and Communication and Works Department attended the meeting. Representatives from other relevant departments also participated.

Authorities discussed planning and preparations required for the proposed treatment tower at Holy Family Hospital.

The government also plans to establish similar facilities at public hospitals in Faisalabad, Sargodha and Bahawalpur.

These projects are aimed at expanding specialised treatment facilities in different parts of Punjab.

Doctors and Medical Equipment to Be Arranged

Specialist doctors and other medical staff will be appointed for the new facility.

Authorities also plan to procure necessary medical equipment before construction work is completed.

This approach is expected to help the facility begin treatment services soon after becoming operational.

The 100-bed tower will provide additional capacity for patients requiring specialised Cancer care in Rawalpindi Division.

Cryoablation Machine Reaches Holy Family Hospital

Meanwhile, Holy Family Hospital has already received a cryoablation machine for specialised treatment.

The equipment can be used in treating selected patients with breast, lung, liver and kidney cancers.

Installation of the machine is currently underway at the hospital.

A test run will be conducted before the equipment is formally used for patient treatment.

Once testing is successfully completed, the hospital will begin registering eligible patients.

The registration process will initially cover patients seeking treatment for the four specified types of cancer.

The addition of the cryoablation machine and the proposed treatment tower will expand specialised services at Holy Family Hospital.
