On the directives of Rawalpindi Commissioner and Engr. Aamer Khattak, the Metropolitan Planning and Traffic Engineering (MP&TE) Directorate has launched strict enforcement actions against unauthorized housing schemes and issued a public advisory to inform citizens.
Authorities have been instructed to take legal action against owners, sponsors, and developers involved in illegal schemes operating within RDA-controlled areas, including the jurisdictions of Municipal Corporation Rawalpindi (MCR), Taxila, Gujar Khan, Kallar Syedan, and Kahuta.
Violations Identified
The RDA identified multiple breaches of the Punjab Development Authorities Private Housing Schemes Rules, 2021, such as:
- Launching schemes without approval
- Unauthorized development and sale of plots
- Failure to submit required documentation
- Major deviations from approved layout plans
Enforcement Measures
In response, RDA has intensified enforcement through:
- Issuing legal notices and registering FIRs
- Sealing offices and illegal project sites
- Demolishing unauthorized structures
- Imposing bans on property transactions
- Referring cases to the FIA Cyber Crime Wing and other relevant authorities
Authorities emphasized that the crackdown aims to protect citizens from fraudulent real estate schemes and ensure compliance with legal standards across Rawalpindi and surrounding areas.
