MURIDKE: A terrorism case has been registered against Tehreek-e-Labbaik Pakistan (TLP) chief Saad Rizvi and several party leaders following violent attacks on security forces in Muridke.
The FIR, filed by Sub-Inspector Muhammad Afzal at the City Muridke police station, cites 32 sections including terrorism, murder, attempted murder, kidnapping, and robbery. Saad Rizvi, Anas Rizvi, Allama Farooq-ul-Hassan, Maulana Sajjad Saifi, and Mufti Wazir Ali are among those named in the report.
Police confirmed that raids are underway to apprehend the accused. Authorities emphasized that no one involved in taking the law into their own hands will be spared.
In addition to arrests, state agencies are cracking down on individuals allegedly spreading misinformation and inciting unrest under the guise of protests. Sources indicated that disruptive campaigns on social media platforms like X (Twitter), Facebook, and WhatsApp have been identified.
Officials stated that a coordinated crackdown is expected to begin tonight, targeting accounts promoting false or provocative content. The operation will extend across multiple cities, with more than 200 arrests anticipated nationwide.
Monitoring cells have been directed to track fake accounts and trace the origins of disinformation, especially content aimed at provoking violence or disrupting public order. Law enforcement agencies are working around the clock to prevent attempts to incite chaos or damage public property.
Raids are expected to be conducted simultaneously in urban centers, with security personnel closely observing online activity to ensure swift action.
