A high-level Saudi Arabian delegation, led by Minister Khalid bin Abdulaziz Al-Falih, met with Pakistan’s Chief of Army Staff, General Asim Munir, in Rawalpindi to discuss enhancing bilateral cooperation. According to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), the meeting focused on strengthening ties across various sectors. General Munir reiterated Pakistan’s continued support for Saudi Arabia and expressed optimism about the positive outcomes this partnership could bring. He also conveyed gratitude to King Salman and Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman for their ongoing support of Pakistan.
The Saudi delegation’s presence underscored the long-standing brotherly relations between the two nations, and both sides emphasized the importance of deepening cooperation for mutual benefit. In addition to the military leadership, the delegation also met with President Asif Ali Zardari. During this meeting, Zardari expressed a desire to elevate Pakistan-Saudi relations into a long-term strategic and economic partnership, emphasizing the mutual benefits such collaboration would bring.

Khalid bin Abdulaziz Al-Falih highlighted Saudi Arabia’s recognition of Pakistan’s strategic significance and its potential in natural resources and renewable energy. He announced that the delegation would sign 25 agreements aimed at boosting economic cooperation between the two countries. These agreements span various sectors, including infrastructure, mining, agriculture, and information technology.
The Saudi delegation arrived in Islamabad for a three-day visit with the goal of finalizing $2 billion in business-to-business (B2B) investment proposals. The 130-member delegation, which includes representatives from sectors like energy, mining, tourism, and manpower, was received by Petroleum Minister Musadik Malik and Commerce Minister Jam Kamal Khan. This visit is a continuation of the growing cooperation between Pakistan and Saudi Arabia, following the Crown Prince’s earlier commitment to expedite a $5 billion investment package for Pakistan.
