SBP Plans to Educate 10 Million Pakistanis in Financial Literacy by 2028

The State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) has announced a major initiative to improve financial awareness in the country. The central bank aims to educate 10 million Pakistanis in financial literacy by 2028. The program is part of a national strategy to encourage better money management and increase financial inclusion.

According to SBP, a large number of citizens still rely on informal methods for savings and transactions. Many people do not fully understand banking services, digital payments, or how to protect their finances. The new literacy campaign is designed to address these challenges.

The plan includes training programs in schools, colleges, and rural areas. Workshops will also be held for small business owners and low-income communities. Digital learning platforms will be used to reach more people, especially in remote regions.

SBP says the goal is to help citizens make smart financial decisions, reduce fraud, and increase the use of formal banking systems. Better financial understanding can also support economic growth by boosting savings and investments.

Experts believe that financial education plays a key role in reducing poverty. When people learn how to manage money responsibly, they can improve their quality of life and avoid financial risks.

The initiative will continue for the next few years, with progress reviewed regularly. By 2028, SBP hopes Pakistan will have a more financially informed population capable of contributing to a stronger and more stable economy.
