Security Forces Kill Eight Terrorists in Intelligence-Based Operations in Balochistan

RAWALPINDI: Security forces killed eight terrorists during two intelligence-based operations in Balochistan. The operations were carried out in Kharan and Mastung districts as part of an ongoing counterterrorism campaign.

According to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), the first operation took place on June 25, 2026. Security forces acted after receiving intelligence about the movement of a group of suspected terrorists in Kharan district.

The troops launched a targeted operation and engaged the suspects at their location. During the exchange, three terrorists were killed. ISPR said the militants were linked to what it described as an Indian proxy group. Several other suspects were also reported injured during the operation.

A second intelligence-based operation was conducted on June 26, 2026, in Mastung district. The operation was launched after security agencies received information about the possible presence of a suicide bomber in the area.

During the raid, Security forces surrounded the suspected location and exchanged heavy fire with the militants. After an intense gun battle, five terrorists were killed. ISPR confirmed that one of those killed was a suicide bomber.

Following the operation, troops recovered a cache of weapons and ammunition from the site. Improvised explosive devices (IEDs) and motorcycles used by the militants were also seized. Officials said the recovered material would be examined as part of the ongoing investigation.

The military’s media wing stated that sanitisation operations are continuing in both areas. The purpose is to locate and eliminate any remaining militants who may still be hiding nearby. Security personnel are carrying out thorough searches to ensure the affected areas are fully cleared.

ISPR said the operations are part of Pakistan’s broader counterterrorism campaign under the vision of Azm-e-Istehkam, approved by the Federal Apex Committee under the National Action Plan. The campaign aims to counter militant networks and improve national security through intelligence-led actions.
