Global cricket legend and former Pakistan captain, Wasim Akram, was mistakenly included in a list of divorced cricketers, sparking outrage from his wife, Shaniera Akram.
A social media account on platform X published a list of 12 past and present cricketers from different countries, falsely claiming they were divorced. Surprisingly, both Wasim Akram and Indian cricketer Anil Kumble—who have never been divorced—were mentioned.

Shaniera Akram quickly spotted the misinformation and did not stay silent. She reshared the post, strongly criticizing the platform for spreading false claims without context or reliable sources. She urged people to fact-check information before sharing it further.
For clarity, Wasim Akram married Shaniera in 2013, and they share a daughter, Aiyla, born in 2014. Previously, he was married to Huma Mufti in 1993, who tragically passed away in 2009.
Similarly, Anil Kumble has been married to Chetna Ramathirtha since 1999, with whom he has two children, alongside adopting her daughter from a previous marriage.
