PM Shehbaz, President Abbas Unite Over Gaza What Their Joint Message Means for Palestine

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif met Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas in Sharm El-Sheikh during the Peace Summit, where both leaders reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening Pakistan–Palestine relations. The meeting also included Bahrain’s King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, reflecting the spirit of regional unity and cooperation.

During their discussion, President Mahmoud Abbas expressed deep gratitude to Pakistan for its unwavering political and diplomatic support for the Palestinian cause. He appreciated Pakistan’s consistent stance in international forums and thanked the country for raising its voice for the rights of the Palestinian people.

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif assured continued support and solidarity, saying Pakistan would always stand by Palestine in its struggle for justice and peace. He praised the people of Gaza for their courage, resilience, and determination despite ongoing hardships and decades of conflict.

Both leaders welcomed the recently signed Gaza ceasefire, describing it as a vital step toward lasting peace and regional stability. They emphasized the importance of sustained international efforts to ensure humanitarian relief and the protection of civilian lives in the occupied territories.

The two leaders also discussed the role of global powers in supporting dialogue and rebuilding efforts in Gaza. Prime Minister Shehbaz reiterated that Pakistan would continue to advocate for a two-state solution, with Jerusalem as the capital of a free and independent Palestine.

In addition to meeting President Abbas, Prime Minister Shehbaz also held informal discussions with the Presidents of Armenia and Azerbaijan, congratulating them on their recently concluded peace agreement. The leaders exchanged views on regional and global developments, including the ongoing situation in Gaza.

The meeting between Shehbaz Sharif and Mahmoud Abbas once again underscored the deep historical ties and mutual respect between Pakistan and Palestine, built on shared values and solidarity for peace.
