Shehbaz Sharif Arrives in Saudi Arabia For Emergency Visit

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif arrives in Saudi Arabia on a brief emergency official visit aimed at discussing the regional situation and strengthening diplomatic coordination.

The prime minister landed at the Royal Terminal of King Abdulaziz International Airport, where he was received by the Deputy Governor of the Makkah region. Pakistanโ€™s Ambassador to Saudi Arabia Ahmad Farooq and other diplomatic officials also welcomed the delegation.

Officials confirmed that the premier arrives in the kingdom for only a few hours. During this short visit, he is scheduled to hold an important meeting with Mohammed bin Salman before returning to Pakistan.

According to the Prime Ministerโ€™s Office, the meeting will focus mainly on the current regional situation. Both leaders are expected to discuss regional security challenges and possible diplomatic solutions.

The discussions will also cover bilateral relations between Pakistan and Saudi Arabia. The two countries share close economic, political, and strategic ties. Officials say these consultations are part of ongoing coordination between the two nations.

The Prime Ministerโ€™s Office stated that Pakistan will continue to play a constructive diplomatic role in the region. The government believes dialogue and cooperation are essential for maintaining stability.

Earlier, Foreign Office spokesperson Tahir Hassan Andrabi confirmed the visit during a weekly press briefing. He said the prime minister arrives in Saudi Arabia at the invitation of Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman.

He added that the visit highlights the close relationship between Islamabad and Riyadh. The discussions are expected to focus on peace, security, and regional stability.

Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar is also accompanying the prime minister during the trip. The delegation will participate in consultations with Saudi officials.

Officials say the visit reflects Pakistanโ€™s commitment to diplomacy and regional peace. Pakistan continues to support efforts for de-escalation, ceasefire, and dialogue in conflict areas.

After completing the meeting, the prime minister is expected to depart Saudi Arabia and return to Pakistan later the same day.

The visit demonstrates the importance of high-level consultations as regional tensions continue to evolve.
