Authorities have made major progress in the abduction and murder case of young man Farukh Afzal in Islamabad’s Sector F-6/1. The investigation has now uncovered several shocking details that have raised serious concerns.
According to the City SP, suspect Mahnoor Shahid had connections with the victim Farukh Afzal. She was also linked to Kashif Shah and lawyer Ahsan Bhutta. These relationships are now part of the ongoing investigation.
Officials shared shocking details that Mahnoor Shahid allegedly instructed Saifullah to carry out the killing. Saifullah, a serving constable in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Police and son of a DSP, has been arrested along with Mahnoor. Both suspects have reportedly confessed.
Investigators revealed more shocking details suggesting that the murder was not an isolated plan. Reports indicate that Kashif Shah and Ahsan Bhutta were also allegedly targeted after the killing of Farukh Afzal.
Farukh Afzal was abducted from outside his home in Islamabad. Witnesses reported that unidentified individuals forced him into a black Corolla. His body was later recovered from Mardan, confirming the worst fears of his family.
The Kohsar Police had earlier registered a case under Section 365 for kidnapping for ransom. The complaint was filed by Farukh Afzal’s father late on May 4. He stated that his son was taken by force from Sector F-6/1.
Police teams were formed immediately to track the suspects and the vehicle. CCTV footage provided key evidence. It showed the car leaving the motorway at Swabi interchange. Authorities also confirmed the vehicle had fake number plates.
These shocking details further revealed how the suspects tried to avoid detection by using altered vehicle identification. Despite these efforts, law enforcement teams traced and arrested the suspects in Swat.
Police later informed the family that Farukh Afzal’s body had been recovered from Swabi. This development confirmed the tragic outcome of the case.
The investigation is still ongoing as authorities work to uncover the full motive and possible wider network. Officials say more arrests may follow as new shocking details continue to emerge.
