Sindh Government Announces Digital Job Portal For Persons With Disabilities

Sindh Government Announces Digital Job Portal For Persons With Disabilities

Syed Murad Ali Shah has approved the creation of a dedicated Digital Job Portal for persons with disabilities (PWDs) in Sindh. The decision aims to improve access to jobs and strengthen institutional support across the province.

The announcement was made during a high-level meeting at the CM House. Senior officials attended the session. They included Principal Secretary Agha Wasif, Secretary DEPD Tauha Ahmed Faruqui, and others. The Vice Chancellor of Sukkur Institute of Business Administration, Prof Asif Ahmed Shaikh, was also present.

The new Digital Job Portal will be developed in collaboration with Sukkur IBA. The platform will use artificial intelligence to match candidates with suitable job openings. It will support three languages: Urdu, Sindhi, and English. This feature will help users from different backgrounds.

The portal will connect PWDs directly with provincial government departments. Officials say this step will promote merit-based hiring and ensure transparency in recruitment. The system will also reduce delays in the hiring process.

In addition to job listings, the project includes a grievance redressal system. This system will allow users to file complaints and track their status. Authorities aim to address concerns quickly and fairly. The integrated approach will protect the rights of PWDs and improve accountability.

The development process will follow a clear timeline. A prototype of the digital system is expected by February 2026. The full Digital Job Portal is planned to become operational by May 2026. The grievance redressal module will go live by July 2026.

The initiative follows the guidelines of the Sindh Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities Act, 2018. This law provides a legal framework to protect the rights of PWDs. It also promotes inclusion in education, employment, healthcare, and public life.

Under the law, the Sindh government must ensure equal opportunities for PWDs. A five percent job quota in government departments is mandatory. The law also calls for inclusive education policies and public awareness campaigns. Annual progress reports are required to monitor compliance and impact.

Officials believe the new Digital Job Portal will strengthen these efforts. The system is expected to improve access to employment and ensure fair treatment. It reflects the governmentโ€™s commitment to inclusion and equal opportunity in Sindh.
