The Excise and Taxation and Narcotics Control Department of the Sindh government has launched Pakistan’s first online auction for premium number plates, as announced by Senior Provincial Minister Sharjeel Inam Memon on social media. This initiative will feature premium number plates available in platinum, gold, and silver categories and aims to raise funds for the Sindh People’s Housing Project to support flood victims.
Memon highlighted that all proceeds from the auction would be directed to assist those affected by recent floods.

He described this move as a significant step towards modernizing public service in Sindh, allowing citizens to participate in the auction while contributing to a noble cause.
Interested participants can register for the auction through the official website premiumnumber.excise.gos.pk or by downloading the department’s mobile app. The registration period for the auction will last for three days.
Previously, in June, the Sindh government conducted its first premium number plate auction at the Pearl Continental Hotel in Karachi, which allowed vehicle owners to customize their cars with exclusive plates. This event featured three categories to cater to different preferences and budgets, with the elite platinum category starting at Rs 2 million for highly sought-after three-character plates.
