More than 33,500 students will appear in the Medical and Dental College Admission Test across Sindh on Sunday, August 16.
The examination will determine admissions to 5,100 medical and dental college seats in the province. This means approximately 6.6 candidates will compete for each available seat.
Sukkur IBA Testing Service will conduct the entrance examination at centres across Sindh. An additional centre has also been arranged in Islamabad.
Sukkur IBA Vice Chancellor Prof Dr Asif Sheikh said 20,934 female candidates and more than 12,600 male candidates have registered.
Jinnah Sindh Medical University Vice Chancellor Dr Siraj Memon said the available places include 2,300 MBBS seats and 2,800 BDS seats. These figures also include seats allocated under reserved quotas.
JSMU has been assigned responsibility for this year’s admission process.
Karachi has the largest single group of candidates, with 10,661 students scheduled to appear. They include 8,186 women and 2,475 men.
Another 9,470 candidates will take the test in Hyderabad. Examination centres in Sukkur will host 5,462 candidates, while 3,066 will appear in Larkana.
Shaheed Benazirabad will accommodate 2,511 candidates, followed by Mirpurkhas with 2,067. The Islamabad centre will host 300 candidates.
Karachi’s examination centre has been established at NED University. A nearby banquet facility will provide seating for parents accompanying candidates.
Students have been instructed to arrive at their centres by 6:30 a.m. The examination will start at 10 a.m.
Candidates will have three hours to answer 180 multiple-choice questions. No marks will be deducted for incorrect answers.
The minimum qualifying score is 55% for MBBS admission and 50% for BDS admission.
The official answer key will be published after the examination. Candidates may keep carbon copies of their answer sheets to compare their responses.
