Sindh Safe City Authority Publishes Performance Report For October–December 2025

The Sindh Safe City Authority (SSCA) on Wednesday released its performance report for October to December 2025, highlighting significant security operations across Karachi.

According to the report, the SSCA successfully apprehended three suspects using facial recognition cameras. The Automatic Number Plate Recognition (ANPR) system also contributed to law enforcement efforts, resulting in the seizure of 26 vehicles and the registration of one case.

Additionally, two cases were filed in connection with the public display of weapons. Over the three-month period, the facial recognition system issued 13 alerts. Following verification, 10 individuals were cleared, while three were taken into custody.

The ANPR system generated 707 alerts during the same period, with 138 people released after verification. Regarding public weapon displays, seven alerts were recorded, leading to the arrest of two individuals, while five were released.

The Sindh Safe City Authority emphasized that these results demonstrate the growing effectiveness of Karachi’s technological surveillance systems in enhancing law enforcement and ensuring public safety. The authority continues to leverage technology to monitor high-risk areas and prevent criminal activities.

In a related development, Karachi police announced a citywide crackdown on vehicles with fake, fancy, or altered number plates. Additional Inspector General of Police Karachi (AIGP) Javed Alam Odho said the operation will begin on 19 December 2025.

The operation aims to curb attempts by motorists to evade traffic penalties. AIGP Odho was joined by Chief Citizens Police Liaison Committee (CPLC) Zubair Habib, Deputy Inspector General (DIG) Traffic Pir Muhammad Shah, and Director Excise Motor Registration Shabana Baloch during the press briefing.

The report and ongoing operations highlight the combined efforts of the Sindh Safe City Authority and Karachi police in improving citywide security and ensuring safer streets for residents.
