A fire at a residential building in Karachi on Wednesday resulted in one fatality, with the victim’s body recovered from the site.
Authorities dispatched five fire brigade vehicles to manage the blaze in Pakistan’s largest city, which faces challenges due to a weak firefighting infrastructure and inadequate safety measures.

Last month, a significant fire at a plastic factory in Karachi also required several hours to control, though no casualties were reported.
Rescue 1122 responded swiftly, using foam to extinguish the flames. The statement from the service noted that they safely rescued individuals stranded on the roof and planned a final search operation after cooling the area.
The fire took place in Shah Faisal Colony, a densely populated district.
